Dark Souls 3 Impressions
I took a day off to play this game. That’s how excited I am about it. But could it possibly live up to my expectations? So far, no. But I still have a lot to do.
The world plays more similar to Bloodborne (and looks like it too), which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I really preferred the first Dark Souls. So far, bonfires are too frequent, but maybe not as much as DS2. Because of this, I haven’t really felt the fear and isolation of the first Souls, but exploring has been fun. I’ve defeated the first two bosses, both on the first try. But, we’ll never know if the game is just easy or it’s because of my experience with the series. But I will say in the Bloodborne expansion, I had a tough time – the difficulty was sure there!
Another thing is that NPCs, shopkeepers, and the blacksmith are all at a central hub that can be warped to at anytime. It plays like DS2, but reminiscent of Demon’s Souls.
Anyway, this specifics are making the journey a bit on the easy side so far, but we’ll see how it plays out. It’s still better than 98% of the games out there.
I’ll have more to talk about soon!
