It’s Vitural Console Day

  • Pokémon Snap (Nintendo 64, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points) As one of the most unique games in a renowned series, Pokémon Snap was the first truly 3-D Pokémon game and introduced the phenomenon to the Nintendo 64. Travel to Pokémon Island and meet Professor Oak to begin a safari, taking the best possible photographs of 63 different Pokémon as they exist in the wild, undisturbed by humans.
  • Ghosts’n Goblins (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone—Mild Animated Violence, 500 Wii Points) Ghosts’n Goblins was a popular arcade game before it made the leap to the NES in 1986. Like later games in the series, Ghosts’n Goblins presents quite a challenge to players brave enough to take on the role of Arthur and delve into the realm of demons and monsters to rescue the kidnapped princess. Choose your weapons wisely and take advantage of their strengths to deal with the situation at hand.
  • BASEBALL STARS 2 (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 900 Wii Points)Lace up your cleats and step onto the diamond with the pros of BASEBALL STARS 2. You’ll find everything you’d expect in a classic game of baseball, but with an arcade feel and intense action that distinguish it from the pack. Pick one of six unique teams from cities around the world, then get ready for nine innings of excitement, whether you’re taking on the computer in a 15-game tournament or squaring off against a friend.
  • Yes! Pokemon Snap! That game is sooo fun!

    It’ll Be Tomorrow

Because of my real job, I don’t have time today to do the Episode 3 Bluecast. But don’t worry, I have plenty of time tomorrow, so we’ll have a good show for you. Until then, enjoy the irony that is Gamespot/Penny-Arcade. There is a connection there.

It’s all about the green. I’m not going to lie.

    UPDATE: And this is priceless:
    dtoidspot.jpg

It’s not Photoshop. D-Toid really did it.

UPDATE #2: An Evil Avatar user posted a reply he got back from Gabe of Penny-Arcade, after he asked him about their ads for Hellgate and Soul Calibur Legends.

Hellgate has a free demo. We tend to give games some slack if there is a demo you can go play for free. Readers can try it for no cost and decide if they like it or not for themselves.

SC is not a terrible game. We’re fans of SC and Legends isn’t bad
especially co op. I think it’s worth a rent at least if you like SC.

I think the important thing is that Tycho and I approve all ads. Sometimes we have too choose ads almost a year before a game comes out and we might only see a very rough build. Sometimes the game ships and it sucks. I think we have a pretty good track record though. The truth is we turn down more money in ad revenue than we take in.

That sounds good to me. If I got to the point with this site that I could choose the ads I want, and still make the money I want, then I would totally do it. Even in that case, I would still allow ads for those guilty-pleasure titles, like the Blade II game. If I was asked to put up ads for the Blade II game, I would certainly do it, because I’m a huge Blade fan. But the game is just terrible(and now BC on the 360!).

Don’t Do Xbox LIVE Account Sharing And Tampering!

October 30, 2007 By: Sean Blue Category: News No Comments →

    From Major Nelson :

“I have mentioned this a couple of times on my podcasts, but I want to make sure those that don’t listen to the show get the message. Specifically, don’t share your account information.  If you run into that person in Halo 3 who claims if they could have your LIVE ID name and password to recover your Xbox LIVE account to their Xbox and they’ll rank you up or find you all the hidden skulls in Halo 3, I urge you not to fall to temptation. While it may be appealing, in addition to violating the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use it can also result in you permanently losing your account. If that ‘friend’ of yours decides not return your account and buys a bunch of Arcade titles and movies on your account, there is nothing we can do except cancel the account since you willingly shared your information. “
