Mini Review: Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes (XBL) 3

I haven’t posted much lately. I’ve been missing my Wednesday movie reviews as well. Hopefully next week I will start them back up. I’ve been doing a lot of gaming though. I’ve been rocking the new Mortal Kombat and Crysis 2 a lot, but one little XBOX Live arcade game I kept returning to is Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. Wow do I love this game! I guess It was on the Gameboy back in the day and I never even checked it out. How bad do I feel now…very! I love puzzle games. I love fighting games. I love RPGs. And I love cartoons. This little game is like they all had an orgy and this is what was left over the next day for the maid to clean up. When I say little game I don’t want you to think it is little by no means. I am still playing the campaign for Christ sakes and I’m not sure how many hours I put into it.

The game play with the battles is what won me over. The strategy is great. It’s like Puzzle Fighter with a game plan. You block together color units to creat a battle formation. Then a number counts down for when they attack. The combo’d units build power every turn until it is time to unleash their fury. This game also has a lot of artifacts to unlock that add battle bonuses, and your players even level up as a standard RPG would.

As for the story, to be honest, I’ve been skipping through it. There are cute little cut scenes and a lot of dialogue that I just don’t have time for because I need to battle. There is even a multi-player mode I haven’t touched. Also as you go along the campaign, the battles change up and have different challenges to accomplish. This game is a must play. Download the trial for free and if you like it, there ya go. I might say it is the best and most played XBOX Live Arcade game I’ve purchased. Yea I said it! What!
