Happenings This Week
I just got into Wii Sports Resort to try out the motion-plus add-on. As a fan of light-gun games, internet ramblings hinted at motion-plus being the needed tool to make this genre play perfectly. The precision is unparalleled. Wii Sports Resort offers some more mini-games as well as upgrades of originals. Bowling is much better, and feels like actual bowling. My favorite though, is flying around the island collecting stuff. Anyone with a Wii should try this out.
Infinity Ward is at it again. While people will salivating over the Call of Duty developer, I myself was a little peeved on how they treated Treyarch in public. Next they announce no dedicated server support for the PC versions. Now, this doesn’t affect me…but I know this will cause some major rumblings. And to the sundae with a cherry, IW announced that the PC version will only have up to 9 vs. 9. This seems backwards to me. After all, while I definitely have fun with my consoles, the PC is the superior platform. The hardcore will go here for MW2. Why is this happening? Again, is this IW, Activision? And why? Move people to the consoles? Unforeseen programming limitations?
With my Borderlands marathon cooling down, I’m hoping to get Demon’s Souls from GameFly this week and possibly complete it before MW2 comes out. Because then not a week later, we have Super Mario Bros. Wii which I’m excited for. The DS version did a great job of brining back what was left behind in Super Mario World, so hopefully we’ll get the same on the Wii.
