JPN PSN PS3 DLC

October 16, 2007 By: Adam Blue Category: How-To No Comments →

Well, I just learned that the Japanese PSN Store has some cool PSOne games.  And by cool, I mean SHMUPS.  Heck yeah.  I’ve also learned that’s it’s pretty simple to create a Japanese PSN ID, and then use a website such as WireCard to initiate those international transactions.  So, so beautiful.  I have yet to do this, but from what I’ve seen, the JPN PSN Store has a few R-Types and a Raiden title.  I will be putting these bad boys on my PSP.  Wonderful.

Go here to create a Wire Card account: wirecard

I’ll come back with a new post once it’s all said and done on my end.

Kevin Levine On BioShock DLC

October 16, 2007 By: Sean Blue Category: News No Comments →

1UP:

Levine says “a lot of plasmids got cut” during development, so you can imagine where his team might start mining for ideas on extending the BioShock experience in the months to come. There’s no news on when we’ll see the fruits of their efforts, but it’s good to know they haven’t forgotten those still enamored with Rapture.

A New Bionic Commando Coming to 360/PS3/PC

October 15, 2007 By: Sean Blue Category: News No Comments →

From Gamespot:

Capcom has revealed to GameSpot that it is developing a new Bionic Commando game for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Simply called Bionic Commando, the new game will bring back the original game’s hook (pun intended), with players able to use the main character’s bionic grappling arm not only to navigate levels but to take out enemies at close range, rappel down sheer surfaces, or toss objects (like cars) at enemies.

 Looks Cool.

New week, more games to play.

I got Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow for my new Piano Black PSP Slim. The game is a lot of fun. It’s just a great action game with very tight controls. And the multiplayer is very funny. Ranked servers, chat, and forums through the games multiplayer lobby.

I did own the original PSP ‘fatty’. I sold it because I knew I’d be buying the newer version. The new PSP is much lighter, and just feels better to hold. I’ve been playing Renegade Squadron and Syphon Filter as an FPS, with the analog stick to move and the buttons to look(there are, however, configurations to reverse the controls much like how FPS’s were played on the N64 and Dreamcast, but I’m now way to comfortable with the current setup thanks to dual analogs). I also dabbled with the PS3 remote play and I’m very impressed. I can’t wait for more comes to come around that support this.

I’m a closet Star Wars fanatic. I’ve been waiting for the Dark Forces Mod for Jedi Academy to release, and when I went to go check on it the other night I came across Knights of the Force.

Yeah. But word on the street says it will never be released. You can check out the website here. Try to ignore the odd choice of music in the background.

    PS3 - An Empty Life

October 05, 2007 By: Adam Blue Category: Editorial No Comments →

Since having my PS3, I’ve been trying to learn as much of it as I can. I have a certain anger towards Sony, so if I’m going to be vocal about them, I think it’s best that I own their product. But the community is empty. People don’t like the PS3. If that was to be my only console…I’d have gone crazy.

I downloaded the Bladestorm demo today. I thought it was tons of fun. Reminded me of Kingdom Under Fire on the Xbox. There is a new KoF in the works, but it is no longer an action-RTS that the originals were. Luckily, that’s what Bladestorm is. It also adds more of a worldy overview of your character. There wasn’t too much of it in the demo, but enough to interest me. I like the command and battle system with your squads. While I think the controls are a little odd, they do work. You actually take on more of a commander role. You attach yourself to the squad, and run with them into battle. That’s cool. And then you can attach yourself to different squads, using all the different weapon types. Fighting is as easy as running into an opponent and watching the animations, but there are also three attack functions within a squad that give it more of a strategic-timing element. Once you get that down, it’s basically contract work of taking out castles. Destroy the squads and commanders, and the land is yours. Also with loot that you can use for your squads. I’ll get this game for sure. But probably for the 360.

Bungie and MS’s new partnership sounds good. They just wanted a little more freedom, which i think was the plan all along once they got three Halos out. The first two were to get the Xbox a following, the 3rd, to get people to buy a 360.
